Mark Lamoncha Appointed to Ohio State Board of Education

Mark Lamoncha, CEO and president of AFS Corporate Member Humtown Products (Columbiana, Ohio), was appointed to the Ohio State Board of Education by Governor John Kasich. His term began January 2, 2019 and runs through December 31, 2022.  The board is made up of 19 members – 11 who are elected and eight who are appointed by the governor.

This appointment highlights the state's emphasis on workforce prep as part of education planning and curriculum," the company said in a news release. "As shop class and home economics have been taken out of the classroom, Mark wants students to know and be prepared for a future that may not include college, to prepare them for a career directly out of high school into business or manufacturing.  Mark is an advocate for problem-based learning as a core feature to developing an effective manufacturing workforce."
