Benton Foundry earns Metalcaster of Year award with expansion

Modern Casting magazine has named AFS Corporate Member Benton Foundry its “Metalcaster of the Year.” Based in the mountains of central-eastern Pennsylvania, the iron metalcaster completed one of the largest expansions in its history last fall: The 70,000 sq. ft. of new and renovated space improved and enhanced its coremaking capabilities, increased capacity and efficiency, improved process control, and added 50 new jobs.

General Motors names Ryobi Die Casting a 2022 Supplier of the Year

General Motors named Ryobi Die Casting (USA), Inc. as a 2022 Supplier of the Year, which recognizes global suppliers that distinguish themselves by exceeding the automaker’s requirements and enabling it to provide customers with innovative technologies and high quality products. GM celebrated this fourth-time winner and all its honorees at its 31st annual Supplier of the Year event in San Antonio, Texas.

Wisconsin manufacturer To build brass foundry

Pending certain approvals, A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. will begin construction this year on a state-of-the-art brass foundry in the Southwest Wisconsin town of Dickeyville, which be the largest project in the company’s 167-year history.

“Our new foundry will be built on a 100-acre parcel in a new industrial park being co-developed by A.Y. McDonald and Jeff Kaiser,” said Rob McDonald, CEO. “This large parcel will serve the growth needs of the company for generations to come.”  CS

Effort Foundry purchased by Brynavon

The Brynavon Group Inc., a third-generation family firm based in Pennsylvania, has acquired Effort Foundry Inc. (Bath, Pennsylvania).
Effort Foundry has been in business since 1971 and produces castings for pumps, valves, power generation, and general industrial applications in a wide variety of alloys, including steel, stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, ductile iron, and gray iron.
