Being a lifelong Midwesterner, I’m not exactly a stranger to tornadoes, but thankfully I haven’t met any face to face.

Have you ever pictured what it would be like to win something comparable to an Academy Award? Who would you thank if you were recognized on a stage in front of hundreds of smiling faces?  

Following a mini getaway in June, my beloved and I arrived home to find our AC on the blink and a stuffy, 82-degree reading on the upstairs thermostat. Drat!

For most people, when there’s a purchasing decision to be made, the more choices available, the better. In my house, however, choices must be carefully curtailed.
